Integral Load Cell Gauge in six capacities from 2 to 500 lbs. - The DFIS offers the same accuracy and digital data communications capabilities as the full-featured DFGS series in an economical and user-friendly digital force gauge product.  The four basic keypad functions provide for minimal operator training in production floor or laboratory environments.  The internal digital sampling rate of 1000 samples per second provides a high level of accuracy in all but the most demanding force peak applications.

Obsolete see the DFS

Operation Features:

  • Internal digital sampling rate of 1000 samples per second
  • Peak function automatically captures and stores highest instantaneous reading within each test.  The peak function may be engaged prior to testing to freeze the display at the highest reading.  It may also be engaged after the test to display the peak value stored.  The "zero" key clears peak memory.
  • Tension/compression modes are indicated by "T" for tension or "C" for compression upon force application. In the digital output, tension values are identified with a minus sign
  • Selectable units of measurement: lb, kg or N
  • Push button calibration
  • Rechargeable battery or AC operation allows 8 hour continuous battery operation with 12-14 hour charge. Low battery indicator on display. Continuous AC operation via charger/AC adaptor
  • Available for 110 VAC or 220 VAC

Output/Interface Features:

  • Bi-directional RS232 interface for data transmission as well as peripheral control of all gauge keypad functions.  Digital data transmission up to 75 data points per second may be accomplished via the interface. Data transmission parameters are user-selectable.  (Baud rates from 300 to 19,200).  The DFIS may also be interfaced with a Chatillon TCD-200 or LRX digital test stand so that both gauge and stand may be peripherally controlled.
  • Mitutoyo output (modified BCD) for use with Mitutoyo brand processors
  • Analog Output: 0 to ±2.3 Vdc full scale (approximate)

Physical Design Features:

  • Die cast metal reversible housing. Split housing design permits upright display whether gauge is hand held or test stand mounted.
  • Easy to read 1/2" high LCD display with 4-1/2 digits for forced value. Smaller characters within the display indicate units of measurement, test mode and low battery
  • 4 key membrane keypad with separate on/off switch
  • 2 separate rear mounting hole patterns: (2) #10-32 thd. holes for light duty stands, or (4) 1/4-20 thd holes for heavy duty stands.
  • Removable load cell shaft: 2 lb through 100 lb: #10-32 thd, 200 lb & 500 lb: 5/16-18 thd
  • Side holes for optional threaded handles
  • Output connector: 12 pin "Hirose" design

Standard Accessories:

Stainless steel attachments include a flat head, hook, cone, chisel and extension rod. Gauge, battery charger, attachments, Allen wrench and operation manual are furnished in a cushioned carrying case.
