L.S. Starrett Company
Laroy S. Starrett, inventor of the combination square, founded the L.S. Starrett Company in 1880. The company has grown rapidly over the years, building a rich history, solid reputation, and a loyal customer base for whom the words “quality” and “Starrett” have become virtually synonymous. To this day, the majority of their precision tools are manufactured in the original Athol, MA plant, where it is not uncommon to see devoted generations of toolmakers with 30 or more years of experience. The expansive Starrett product line includes precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gages rules, etc.), levels, electronic gages, dial indicators, gage blocks and granite surface plates, and custom engineered instruments. Specialized metrology equipment includes optical measuring projectors, vision systems, and multi-sensor measuring systems – many of which are custom engineered for a variety of applications. Manufacturers of all sizes and industries trust Starrett to provide the precision measuring tools they need to ensure the impeccable quality of their products.
