The Starrett 172E Thickness Gage with Straight leaves is an Inch reading gage with 8 leaves and a locking device. The leaves are 1/2 x 12" in size and Range from .002 to .015" thickness. These gages are used in automotive, aviation, diesel and farm equipment manufacture and service as well as in jig, fixture, gage and experimental work. Especially useful in adjusting tappets, spark plugs, distributor points, checking bearing clearances and gear play, fitting pistons, rings and pins and gaging narrow slots. Made in a wide Range of types and sizes, each having from 6 to 26 leaves ranging in thickness from .0015 to .200" and 0.03 to 5mm thick straight or tapered.
